VPK Newsletter February 25th

Dear Zebra Parents,

Our theme for next week is  "Fairy Tales." We will also be celebrating Dr. Seuss'

birthday (March 1st). Please see the poster in the office to remind you how we will be celebrating each day. Our letter of the week is Bb. Don't forget to have your child watch Downton's turtle, Hamilton, announcing this on our Facebook page!

Join us for all the fun:

- Monday - Crazy Hair Day

- Tuesday - Crazy Socks Day

- Wednesday - Whacky Dress Day (odd socks, shirts on backwards etc.)

- Thursday - Stripes and/or Hat Day

- Friday - Dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss character or repeat one of the above.

Your child's success in school is very much dependent on your help to reinforce all our learning activities as we go along. Here is another activity to help your child succeed with the AP3 Assessment tool -

Along with this newsletter, we have sent you a sheet of the upper case alphabet to help your child practice identifying the names and the sounds of letters. Ask your child to point to a letter, saying its name. Then ask your child to point to a letter, saying the sound(s) it makes.

You can make this more fun by selecting a small toy to put onto a letter and ask your child which letter the toy is on. You could copy this sheet and cut up the letters and hide them around the house. Have your child name each letter as he or she finds them. If your children are more advanced, see if they can spell a 3 letter word using the letters they find.
